If we talk about “THAI FOODS”, I think everyone will say that it is spicy. But in fact, Thai foods compose of 5 tastes such as sweet, salty, sour, spicy and umami. All of the tastes blend perfectly together and make every Thai dishes have a palatable taste.

There are numerous traditional food in each four regions of my country which has different unique taste. First of all, if you have a chance to travel to the north, you must try “Khao Soi” or Northern style curried noodle soup with chicken. The egg noodle along with a creamy texture from coconut milk and spice is the most perfect match when you eat with chicken, pickled cabbage, shallots and lime juice. Next, it is undeniable to say that one of the most popular food of Thailand is northeastern food that called “Somtum” or “Papaya salad”. Even though it is northeastern food, you can find this kind of food in every street food or Thai restaurants. Somtum is made from unripe papaya mixed with tomato and long bean and seasoned with fish sauce, coconut sugar, lime juice and chili. Sometimes we put some dried shrimp, nut or fermented fish depend on what kind of Somtum. The secret that makes Somtum have a better taste is eating with fresh vegetable for example; shabby and long bean or sometime Thai people like to eat Somtum with sticky rice. Are you a spicy lover? If you say ‘yes’, you will fall in love with Southern foods. This kind of food has chili and curcuma for main ingredients. For example, “Kua Kring” or “Spicy Mince Pork with Chili Paste” which has yellow color that attract people to eat it. Thai people believe that when you eat spicy foods, you will have a good appetite. Move to the central of Thailand where Bangkok city is located. The Central foods are received influent from various countries because this part was the capital city in almost every era in the past. Thus, central foods are mixed between Chinese foods, Indian foods, Vietnam foods, Myanmar foods, Khmer foods and Western foods. The most popular Thai food in the world is central food which is called “Tomyum Koong” or “River prawn spicy soup”. There is some sentence that say “If you visit Thailand but you do not try Tomyum Koong, it means that you do not arrive in Thailand”. Why the foreigners love Tomyum koong ?. On behalf of Thai people, I think because it consists of many herbs for instant lime leaves, galingale, leman glass, mushroom together with chili and lime juice so it has a unique smell. In addition, oil from shrimp makes Tomyum Koong more delicious when you eat with Thai Hom Mari rice(Thai Jasmin rice).

All of the menu that I explain are just examples of Thai foods. There are many dishes which are waiting for you here in Thailand! Thai people and I would like to say Welcome to my country to all of you so please go to Thailand and enjoy Thai foods.
