You may know pork cutlet and chicken cutlet, but recently in Japan, “Gyukatsu”(Beef cutlet) is become famous too! Around 2 or 3 years ago, Gyukatsu started to be well-known because of the taste and the way to cook Gyukatsu.
Gyukatsu is different from pork and chicken cutlet. Not because it made from beef but the cooked beef also in the rare to medium rare.
you can enjoy eating the real taste of beef. The restaurant will provide some special sauce or something to dip with such as wasabi, pepper, salt, etc.
I have two restaurants for Gyukatsu in Tokyo for you to try. The first one is a restaurant name “Moto-Mura”(もと村)http://www.gyukatsu-motomura.com/63. This restaurant is originally in Shibuya. Because of its famous you may have to queue up in line for almost 2 hours to enter the restaurant but it is worth to try. The restaurant provides Gyukatsu that the colour inside cutlet is still pink! Its taste is very good, tender, and no smell of blood because of good beef.
The second one is “Gyukatsu AONA”(牛カツあおな) http://www.jfoods.co.jp/index.html This restaurant has many shops than Moto-Mura. So you don’t have to wait so much. What I like about this shop is the rice that serve with Gyukatsu is contain of grains too! And it goes very well with Gyukatsu.
Gyukatsu is like a kind of raw beef. You may feel uncomfortable at first time but I could say that it is worth to try new thing! The restaurants I recommend is clean and tasty so feel free to taste it. Enjoy eating J
