JAPANESE FOODS
31.07.2017
Today I would like to introduce about a Japan’s traditional cuisine. I couldn’t eat it before, but now It has become one of my favorites – Sashimi (raw sliced fish) .
Japan is known as an island nation and Sashimi is a cuisine which represents this unique characteristic. Sashimi can also be called by 2 more names: Otsukuri or Tsukurimi. In general, it will be made by the freshest ingredients and cut into bite-sized slices. But based on the ingredients, the cutting way and the slices’ size will be different. People make it more beautiful by garnishing it with white raddish, carrot or seaweed ( these decorations are called Tsuma) dexterously. For example this is a Sashimi dish meticulously garnished to look like a waterfall.
The moment we eat Sashimi made in an appropriate cooking or premilinary process ( such as evisceration) we could taste It’s pure deliciousness. And more important, only a few proportion of nutrition will be lost after cooking process, which is better for our health.
Moreover, particular ingredients of every seasons will be used while making Sashimi which could make people feel the unique sense of 4 seasons.
It is most delicious when eating Sashimi and dipping it in Shoyu and Wasabi.
In Japan, not only Japanese-style restaurants but also a lot of families can make Sashimi for daily meals. For Japanese Sashimi has become an indispensable cuisine.
Sashimi has become more and more popular in Japan and “gone like a bomb” in the world so will you dare to eat this fantastic cuisine with me?
Actually I have some foreigner friends who don’t have raw-food-eating habit and may feel so hard to eat it. But I believe with practice everyone can certainly get used to it.
So what are you waiting for? Come and have a bite!
